chris shaw invited me to a digital theatre workshop in Aix-en-Provence. rob shaw and steina and woody vasulka and don and kathelin and gabriella and i stayed in a fabulous cononical chateuax in the neighboring countryside nights, and spent days/evenings at The Art School in Aix mostly talking about art and stuff. It was a good time. I was only there four or five days. Saturday was filled with presentations by various folks showing what they're up to.
Dragan Zivadinov was pretty neat. He showed some laibach videos he made and served vodka, so that was okay in my book.
David Gale said some very interesting things about new medias (radio, television, internet) producing a resurgance of faeries.
Steina Vasulka did a fabulous performance with violin and laserdisk. (steina aix 1.avi steina aix 2.avi).
The highlight for me i hafta confess was showing my little programs and folks actually liking them.
Also we visited marseilles, which came right as i happened to be reading the destiny of isabelle eberhart, which contains a section where I.E. is destitute in marseille around 1903, so it was fun to walk around wondering if she'd walked the same place.
